Watching Rupert Murdock hem and haw right now.

They do what all news organizations do. They just got caught.
Also, how is this "hacking"? They brute-forced 4-digit pin numbers. The probability of simply guessing the correct combination is 1/10,000 but with some social psychology you can limit the complexity and reduce the set in order to speed up a positive result.

Anyway, it's live now streaming via broadband internet:

Insomnia is wonderful

Why can't I sleep through the night? I went to be just before 1AM after whittling down some crap strawberries that the house owner's, and new housemate, bought at Costco - they had turned into a mass of fungus in less than 48 hours - and woke up AT LEAST 3 times. And of course I chose the room with the window that directly faces the rising sun. Less than 6 hours of sleep. FML.

Breakfast!

2 eggs sunnyside up, two pieces of wheat toast with butter, 1 small, thinly sliced Idaho potato fried in my greasejar slop, 1 piece of ham topped with white onions and white snowcap mushrooms sauteed in my greasejar slop.

Always have a grease jar. Olive oil, bacon fat, steak drippings, Crisco... anything that is grease, fat or lard, keep it around for things like this.

Trick 'r Treat is a terrible movie

I just watched this piece of crap. First, it follows multiple story lines - 4 of them - with the first 3 interspersed between each other. This movie seems to have been edited specifically for those with ADD. But don't worry: it's not like there's much of a plot to speak of. The final segment prominently features a character that make appearances in the other scenes. There is no back story for this character. There is no explanation. It only serves as a poorly executed tension piece. This is followed by a wrap-up montage which wraps around back to the beginning of the movie. I did not want to relive that part of the movie. I want my life back. This movie isn't even bad enough to make fun of so you don't even get the cheesy factor working on it. At least Santa's Slay had that. If you want to watch a decent holiday slasher flick watch My Bloody Valentine. Or - you know - Halloween.
